Seapoint U16’s welcomed Caernarfon RFC from North Wales to Woodbrook College on Saturday last where both contested a very tight game in windy and muddy conditions. Seapoint started the strongest and edged the first half. Man of the match for Seapoint, Fionn Shortall scored the first try with sniping run from the back of a ruck under the posts and it was duly converted. Caernarfon hit back with a try before half time to leave it 7 – 5 in favour of Seapoint. The second half became more open as both teams emptied their benches and Seapoint lost one of their main talliesmen, Teddy Lawlor with a fractured arm. Seapoint scored another try through James O’Toole before Caernarfon hit back with another try and in the dying moments a third and converted try to take the match on a scoreline of 17 – 14.

Both teams shared some refreshments and we were treated to some North Wales singing by our visitors. We would like to thank Caernarfon RFC and our own parents for a great day in Woodbrook College. Wishing Teddy a speedy recovery.
