Last Saturday in Kilbogget saw the first round of the All Ireland Junior Cup. We hosted Kilfeacle from Tipperary at 2.30pm with Seapoint playing with the wind. This was a game of two half’s with the visitors scoring four tries with Seapoint managing only the one from the great James Brindley.
The score at half time was 7-29 to Kilfeacle. The second half, while playing into the wind, was a completely different story with Seapoint dominating in position and possession. Conor Eivers and James Newman both managed to score converted tries with the visitors not changing their scoreboard. It was all a bit too little too late however.
Seapoint took some time to get used to the one directional physical nature of Munster Club rugby but once they settled they showed some silky skills and the ability to cut defences open.
Final score 21-29 to Kilfeacle.
