Stan McDowell – Senior Head Coach
Stan joins Seapoint as our new 1st XV Head Coach, bringing a wealth of experience across elite rugby, player development and high-performance environments. A former European Cup winner with Ulster Rugby and Ireland U21 & Ireland A international, he combines top-level playing experience with more than 20 years of coaching across professional, international, club and schools rugby, including Wanderers FC, Blackrock College RFC, CBC Monkstown and the IRFU Men’s & Women’s Sevens programmes. Bringing a proven track record of developing players and building strong team cultures, Stan now leads Seapoint into an exciting new chapter.
Joining Stan is an outstanding coaching team:
🔹 Rory Geelon – Senior Forwards Coach, bringing over a decade of coaching experience across AIL, schools and club rugby, with a reputation for technical excellence and player development.
🔹 Karl McDonald – Strength & Conditioning & Skills Coach, currently with Leinster Rugby, bringing expertise in sports science, athletic performance and elite player development.
🔹 Ryan Hayes – Senior 2nds Head Coach, continuing his Seapoint journey after key coaching and performance analysis roles within the club, alongside experience with Leinster Rugby U18 Clubs & Youths.
Together, Stan, Rory, Karl and Ryan bring an exceptional blend of elite playing experience, coaching expertise and player development to Seapoint Rugby Club.
